Attractions in Cyprus : Main Cities & Towns
- Nicosia (Lefkosia) which is the capital of Cyprus.
- Limassol (Lemesos) which is the second largest city on the island.
- Larnaca is about a 30 minute drive to the east of Limassol.
- Pafos is situated on the south-western coast of the island where the legend of Aphrodite was born.
- Famagusta (Ammochostos) and the resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras are famous for their lovely sandy beaches.

Things to see and do...The Akamas Peninsula The is a very lovely area close to Paphos which is excellent for swimming, cycling and walking. A real treat for nature lovers and there are many trails to explore such as the popular Aphrodite and Adonis Trails. Troodos Mountains The Troodos Massif stretch across the centre of Cyprus and are edged with 12th and 15th century Byzantine frescoed churches and monasteries, forests of pine and wine making villages. The area can be reached by car or bus and the nearby resort of Platres is where many take a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Cyprus Beaches Visit the lovely beaches and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear turquoise blue waters of the island. Water Parks Have fun at the excellent waterparks on the island. Golf in Cyprus Cyprus is becoming internationally famous for it's lovely golf courses which are all in idyllic settings. There are already three championship courses with more great golf courses in the pipeline.
