FERRIES Since 2001, there are no longer any passenger ferries to Cyprus but you can still send vehicles unaccompanied. There are of course many cruises from Cyprus to Greece, the Greek Islands, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. ENTERING CYPRUS If your visit to Cyprus is less than 3 months a valid passport is required and EU nationals can also enter Cyprus with a valid ID Card. Visas are NOT required for passport holders from the EU, USA, Australia and Canada.
LANGUAGE Cyprus was for many years a British Colony, consequently many Cypriots speak English which does help if you don't speak Greek..
Weather in Cyprus Before you travel to Cyprus it's a good idea to get to know what the weather will be like. If you like the heat then you'll absolutely love the long hot summers but if you prefer it a little cooler then the best time to travel to Cyprus is during May or September. The months between are very hot with temperatures soaring to 40 C in July and August.
