Kolossi Castle

There are many excellent attractions in Lemesos Town and in the surrounding areas of Lemesos. All are relatively easy to reach by car or bus from the bus station in the Old Town of Lemesos.

This is one of the most popular attractions in Limassol and takes about 30 mins by bus (shorter by car) and is situated in Kolossi Village. The 13th century castle is very impressive but the narrow spiral staircase leading to the top is quite scary especially if you don't like heights. Once you get to the top you can see the old remains of a 14th century sugar factory and the rich fertile land where the Knights of St John grew grapes to produce the sweet desert wine of Commandaria which is still very popular today.
